In Search of the Perfect Wind

Unexpectedly I found myself with some free time, enough for a short getaway, so I decided to pay a visit to the mountain town of Bolzano, Italy. Bolzano (Bozen) is the capital of the South Tyrol region, with a unique history and blend of Italian and German culture. The city lies in a valley, surrounded by mountains and oh boy, it was windy when I arrived. But nothing that a long woolen coat can’t fix though.

For this occasion, I booked a stay at the Four Points by Sheraton Bolzano and reserved an Executive room for my stay. The staff was friendly and the check in process was completed with ease. The Sheraton Four Points Hotel is about a 10-minute drive away from the center of the city. If you don’t come by car you can take the trip by taxi to the center for only about €12, or travel by the local bus. For me, the distance to the city center wasn’t a problem as I care a lot about the extra amenities when booking hotels, like indoor pools and spas to relax and melt away in after a busy day. Unfortunately, many hotels situated in the center of the city don’t have any of these extra amenities that I enjoy so much.

As I am writing this post from the hotel room, today I would like to share with you how I paired a long woolen coat and white mohair sweater with lace with a Mango black sherpa tote bag and a pair of Sandgrens leather clogs that I talked about in my previous post. The photos were taken near the hotel while the wind was blowing so strongly that not only did it make a complete mess out of my hair, it really chilled you to your bones. I found instant relief in the sweater with lace that was so fluffy to the touch and the long woolen coat. The flowery lace detail on the sweater is so cute in my opinion.

The black sherpa tote pairs so well with the sweater with lace as they are both fluffy on the touch and complement each other well. Adding to the contrast is a pair of black leather clogs. This pair of Sandgrens Swedish clogs is made out of real nubuck leather and has a great fit. If you’re interested in buying a pair yourself and want to know more about how to wear clog boots, I would recommend sticking to the size chart of Sandgrens clogs or contacting the company’s team for advice on sizing as I did. What I love about my pair of leather clogs is that every single pair of clogs is handmade in Sweden with techniques passed down through generations.

The accessories I picked for this outfit were simple CREW tortoiseshell framed sunglasses and small pearl earring studs from Angies Glamour Fashion.

I acknowledge the importance of taking time for ourselves and spoiling myself a little bit with indoor swimming pools and spas. For those of you more demanding, Four Points by Sheraton Bolzano gives you the possibility to book a massage, ayurvedic treatments, body scrubs and similar services.

At the time of updating this article in the late fall of 2022, the Steam Bath is temporarily closed due to Covid-19, worth mentioning for all the lovers of spa services that Sheraton Four Points Bolzano provides.

Bolzano is a charming city and has a lot of offer from a historical point of view, but also if you are searching for leisure activities. I will be posting more picture of my stay in Bolzano, tyrolean food & Sheraton Four Points on my Instagram, so I invite you to check out my Instagram profile, see ya there!
